Terms & Conditions

Applicants are required to submit their entry on artcall.org - link found here. 
You must register for artcall.org (button in top right corner).  A $45 non-refundable entry fee for Front of the House / Back of the House is required upon registration.  Please be sure to fill out your Artist Bio and Artist Statement as part of your registration profile.  This can be edited later.

Please Note: You may submit up to six "Applications." Each Application is considered one piece, with the "Application Title" being the title of an individual piece.

Submissions are due by September 25th, 2018.
Notifications will be emailed on October 31st, 2018.

Should you be accepted to participate:

Artists selected to participate in Front of the House / Back of the House commit to creating a new brooch within the guidelines of the theme of the show and agree to meet the specified terms, requirements and deadlines of the exhibition. If an artist or brooch does not meet the standards and requirements for the exhibition for any reason deemed by Heidi Lowe and Shella Robinson, the artist will not be included in the exhibition and the brooch will be sent back to the artist.  

 
  • Artists will be sent a consignment agreement. Signed hard copies must be enclosed with the brooch.
     
  • Artists are responsible for all shipping and insuring costs. Work must be received by Heidi Lowe Gallery by January 30, 2019.
     
  • Artists must submit digital versions of the following materials to frontofthehouse.backofthehouse@gmail.com by January 30, 2019:
    • A quality image of the brooch in RAW (preferred) or TIFF format, labeled with artist’s name
    • A signed consignment sheet
    • An Inventory sheet with the artist’s name, contact information, title of piece, materials, dimensions, year created and retail price
    • A brief artist statement about the brooch for Front of the House / Back of the House
    • A quality picture of artist in RAW (preferred) or TIFF format, labeled with artist’s name
       
  • Artists must answer a series of interview questions regarding your background, inspiration and investigation, creative process and how binaries appear in your work. Answers must be returned to frontofthehouse.backofthehouse@gmail.com by January 30, 2019 and may or may not be included in an exhibition catalogue or other exhibition materials.
